Common issues
Where do I get Delecto?
It’s coming soon to the Mac App Store, free. The home page will link to it the day it’s live.
“Let Apple Intelligence cull” is greyed out or asks to enable something.
Apple Intelligence culling needs Apple silicon and Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri. After turning it on, macOS downloads the model in the background; the first run can wait a few minutes.
Apple Intelligence culling is slow.
That is expected: about 8 to 20 seconds per match on an M1 Pro. Leave it running, or click Take over to finish by hand. Keep “Settle clear-cut quality mismatches without the model” on in Settings to skip the obvious matches.
A photo shows that its original can’t be found.
The file was moved or its drive isn’t connected. The app shows its cached preview so you can keep culling; missing photos are skipped when exporting. Reconnect the drive, or re-import the folder’s Brackets.delecto file from its new location.
macOS asked for permission to access a folder.
The app writes a Brackets.delecto file next to your photos and, on export, copies into the folder you chose. Allow it, or turn off “Keep a bracket file in each photo folder” in Settings.
A saved bracket couldn’t be read.
The bracket file was edited by hand or written by a newer version of the app. Update the app, or open Settings › Show in Finder, move the file out of the library folder, and write to support with a copy.
Where are my exported picks?
In the folder you chose in the Export sheet; by default a selected folder inside the shoot. After export, the results screen offers a link to open it.
How do I remove everything?
Open Settings › Show in Finder and delete the library folder it reveals, then move Delecto to the Trash. Optionally delete any Brackets.delecto files in your photo folders. Your photos are untouched.
Requirements: macOS 26 or newer. Apple Intelligence culling needs Apple silicon. Version 1.0.0 is the first release.
